You will need to have either completed Essential Digital Skills for Life or have equivalent IT skills. You will also need to be able to read and understand basic written and spoken English.
You will learn how to use devices to store and organise information and find solutions to common technical problems, create and edit documents including formatting, sorting and filtering data, communicate appropriately for different audiences using your device, compare online buying options and manage account settings and protect and backup your data and personal information and privacy.
Through a blended learning approach including classroom learning and digital learning from home (for those with devices at home).
Please bring paper and a pen to make notes. You not need to have a device at home but this may help. All other learning materials are provided.
You will be assessed and be able to keep track of your progress through tutor observations and practical tasks in the class. Progress will be monitored and reviewed using an Individual Learning Plan and there will be an online exam at the end of the course.
At the end of this course you will have the opportunity to discuss next steps with your tutor. You may wish to progress by developing your digital skills further on another digital qualification course.
